“I received my BFA at the School of Visual Arts in 2008, where I began to explore the accumulation and proliferation of organic abstract shapes through various mediums (painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, digital). My main reference is growths in nature, such as fungi, mold, and other things you may find in clusters. My work involves a lot of repetition to create patterns, most of which are done impulsively. I try not to think too much about the outcome, but instead I like to see how these shapes end up taking on a life of their own.”
